Weddings are such beautiful events to photograph. I love the challenges found in wedding photography. I have yet to experience a challenge-free wedding day, as it’s impossible to control all variables even if you are an organized Bridezilla who has been prepared for 14 months. The pushing wind scooping up the wedding dress and veil during an outdoor ceremony; a brother late for a sunset yacht wedding; the shy flower girl who won’t walk up the aisle; or the caterer who’s car was demolished by the rolling storm that just passed in the middle of dinner….the list can go on. All these real, uncontrollable situations create the most natural and memorable photographs. The sister tames the fly away veil and a most endearing image was captured on the bride’s face. The late brother allowed extra photographs of the bride and groom in gorgeous lighting. The flower girl gains courage and runs into the groom’s arms at the alter. And the unfortunate demolished car made guests venture outside where a rainbow hovered over police and firemen who attended the fallen tree. So, from these perceived challenges came beautiful, memorable photographs.
