A solo photography exhibition exploring the process and inaccuracy of our memories.
The way we behave is based on the stories we tell in our memories. Our memories are hazy, subjective constructs. Every time we conjure up a memory, it is re-saved in our brains, slightly differently. Most memories cannot be fully trusted, but a film photograph speaks the truth. It is a concrete documentation of a moment in time. The “Misunderstanding Memory” project began as I unpacked my own memories and examined them for accuracy. These black & white, film photographs frame moments and I invite, you, the viewer to take a risk and examine your own unique memories sparked by my images.
